Florence Henderson was familiar to television audiences long before she became America's favorite mom. In fact, she is actually returning to the "Today" franchise, having served as a "Today Girl" from 1959-60 with founding anchor Dave Garroway. Then, in what would become her most remembered and beloved role on television, Henderson broke new ground as the star of one of America's longest-running situation comedies, "The Brady Bunch," which aired from 1969-1974.
Since the conclusion of the program, she has appeared in and hosted a number of television movies and primetime specials in conjunction with "The Brady Bunch." In addition, Henderson made frequent appearances throughout the years with such variety and talk show legends as Ed Sullivan, Bing Crosby, Jack Paar, Dean Martin, Merv Griffin and Dick Cavett. Henderson was also the first female host of "The Tonight Show," filling in for Johnny Carson on many occasions and regularly appearing as a guest.
Behind the camera Henderson co-produced nine seasons of the Nashville Network cooking, comedy and talk show, "Country Kitchen."
