Deborah Marchini is a well-informed and dynamic presenter on financial topics, providing her audiences with up-to-date commentaries on news from Wall Street to the federal government. Most recently, she served as the New York-based anchor for CNN Financial News where she co-anchored Business Day, an hour-long, live morning show designed to provide all the news that professionals need before heading to the office. She also anchored Before Hours, a program that looks ahead to that day's business and economic events and features, with updates from London on European market activity. Marchini joined CNN Financial News in 1985 and spent two years in New York as a Wall Street correspondent in 1987, and in 1989, she took over the anchor spot on Business Day. Prior to joining CNN, Marchini was ESPN's business reporter, reporting for the network's Business Times. She has also worked as a financial writer and reporter at the Bureau of National Affairs. Marchini earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and psychology from The George Washington University, graduating with honors. She also attended New York University's Stern School of Business.
