Nancy L. Snyderman, M.D., combines an active surgical practice of Head and Neck surgery with her role as Chief Medical Editor for NBC News. She is a frequent contributor to "20/20" and "Good Morning America" and substitute co-host for GMA. She also writes monthly columns for Good Housekeeping and Health magazine. She is the co-founder of Lluminari, a prestigious network of the best-known evidence based health experts who believe that communicating about health is as important as practicing medicine.
She has reported on wide-ranging medical topics affecting both men and women. She has traveled the world and has reported from Eastern and Western Europe, Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War, Russia and Somalia.
Dr. Synderman attended medical school at the University of Nebraska and followed up with residencies in Pediatrics and Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1983 she moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, to join the surgical staff at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she started to combine her medical skills with her love of reporting.
