Harrison Ford

Crusade.” Just as the “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones’” films cemented Ford’s reputation as an action star, other movies have focused on different facets of his immensely recognizable screen personality. In 1985, he gave one of his best-received performances—earning an Academy Award nomination—in “Witness.” He departed even further from type in 1988’s corporate romance, “Working Girl.” Over the next ten years, his films ran the gamut from legal thrillers—1990’s “Presumed Innocent”—to classic romantic comedies—1995’s “Sabrina” remake—to more action-adventure blockbusters, most notably as Jack Ryan in “Patriot Games” and “Clear and Present Danger,” and as Richard Kimble in “The Fugitive.” In 1997 Ford starred in the thrillers “The Devil’s Own” and “Air Force One,” the latter of which he played the President of the U.S. In 1999, Ford mixed romance and action in “Random Hearts,” and in 2000 he starred with Michelle Pfeiffer in the supernatural thriller “What Lies Beneath.” The fourth Indiana Jones installment, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was recently released in 2008, and his latest movie, “Crossing Over”—about illegal immigration in the U.S.—will be released later this year.
